Jeven's track meet

Every summer at Elden Kellar Track in Hillsboro there are a handful of all-comers track meets for all ages. I have always been into track and field so of course I am encouraging my kids to follow in my footsteps. Well, turns out Jeven will probably be pursuing something else. :) He got SMOKED in every event he entered, and not by big kids even, but they were all his age or younger! Needless to say, I am a little bummed that he isn't the natural that his mom is/was, but he had such a great time doing it, maybe all he needs is practice? Everyone keeps telling me "he's only 4" "you can't know anything yet" but ALL the kids are young and ALL the kids beat him! Anyway, I really am ok with it, really...Ok so I am at least working on it. Anyway, here are some pictures of my track star!!

Sounds like he could be *my* kid! At least he can skateboard and shave. It's good to have skills of some kind. :)

Hey Randi, thanks for your comment on my blog. Funny how we go to church together and I've talked more to you on the computer?! What a time we live in. I heard about Bernie Mac today too...just goes to show how quickly life is gone.

On a lighter note though, I totally laughed at the pics of Jeven and your husband with road rash!!! It's a good thing you don't have my neighbor; we rode our kids around on a motorized scooter we used to have, helmet and all, and he threatened to call CPS on us! So, needless to say it wasn't worth the risk and I sold it. ;) It was a funny sight to see me 8 months pregnant marching over to his door, (all the while Taylor is yelling for me to remember Psalms something or other), to tell the guy I didn't appreciate him threatening our family!

Anyway, sorry I just went off and wrote like a whole book on your blog. :0 Your pics just reminded me of that special time in our life. HaHa. End of story is though, that my friend just bought a really expensive bike from him, and we mended fences. So, alls well that ends well. Ok, I'll see you at church!
